Top 5 most romantic places in Tenerife for couples.

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Playa del duque in Tenerife South

This white sand beach in the south is one of our favorite places to watch the sunset over the atlantic ocean. The area is surrounded by some of the best hotels in Tenerife, restaurants and up market shopping centres. It is definitely one of the most luxurious and romantic holiday destinations in the canary islands. It’s the best place to go for an evening walk as a couple or sit down and relax with a cocktail whilst watching the sun go down.

Did you know that playa del duque is one of the most popular places to propose?

Teide nacional parque

Watching the sunset from the beautiful national park in Tenerife that lies above the clouds, is an experience that you will never forget. It is Joëlles favorite place to go on the island for a romantic evening in Tenerife. Once the sun sets, you’ll see the sky clear like you’ve never seen it before. Parque Nacional del Teide in Tenerife is well known as the best place to watch the stars.

The cliffs of Los gigantes

Los gigantes refers to the giants, that’s because of the size of the cliffs, they are up to 800 meters high. A populair place to see the cliffs is from the touristic viewpoint. However, we love the beach of Los Gigantes, which sits directly next to the cliffs. It is very impressive to see them right next to you from that point and garanties a postcard view. Los Gigantes is on the west coast of Tenerife and therefore a bit more quiet than the busy south, so perfect for couples looking for a romantic day trip.

We pinpointed the viewpoint and the beach on google maps for you cause it’s a must see.

Playa Benijo in Tenerife North

Playa Benijo is (in our opinion) the best kept secret romantic beach. The beach is surrounded by the mountains of anaga rural park and is located near taganana. If you love nature like us then you will love the road to this beach. When you arrive, you will be greeted by the stunning windy staircase which leads to this stunning volcanic beach. This vast 300m long beach makes for amazing panoramic shots and the iconic rocks rising out of the sea makes it one of the most instagrammable places in Tenerife.

Montana Amarilla

Montana Amarilla is known as a natural monument, and we can see why.

Its yellow rocks have been carved by the waves in a unique form, making it a picture worthy spot. It’s a great snorkel spot in Tenerife, because of the clear water. It even has a staircase leading into the water, which makes it super easy and safe to go in and out. On low tide days it’s a perfect place for a coastal walk for nature lovers.

Have you been to any of these places? We would love to hear your experience! Or if you know any more romantic spots in Tenerife, feel free to send us a message.
